Mountain River: The Role of Law in Making our Rivers and Lakes Pristine

Comhshaol - Climate Bar Association and the Irish Centre for Human Rights, University of Galway are delighted to present a unique event shining a light on Rivers in Ireland.

The event will commence with the rehearsed reading of specially commissioned play called "Mountain River" by Georoid Mac Unfraidh SC, exploring issues on Rivers in Ireland, to be followed by a chaired panel discussion on the issues raised. The discussion will be aimed at exploring whether innovative dispute resolution fora would be of benefit to the environmental protection of rivers and lakes, and whether there are models of arbitration or mediation which might be incorporated into Ireland's existing fora to help to enforce laws against water pollution.
