Climate Obligations after Coolglass: The Supreme Court's Interpretation of Section 15 in Coolglass Wind Farm Ltd v An Coimisiún Pleanála [2026] IESC 5 This presentation examines the Supreme Court's landmark judgment - its first consideration of section 15(1) of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act 2015 following its amendment by the 2021 Act.
At the end of the presentation, participants will; Attendees will gain a clear understanding of when section 15 will be directly applicable or applicable through relevant implementing plans, the range of permissible decisions available to planning bodies, and practical guidance for planning authorities, developers, and other relevant bodies.
